Hi I am 16 and I really want to start my own business. I hate working for other people and it is definitely something that I do not want to do for the rest of my life. I need ideas on a small business that I can start from home with a relatively low start up cost. I don't want to do yard work or babysitting either. All ideas are appreciated thank you!!

Ofcourse. For starting up any business you need to realize the strengths. If you are good at writing then you can start with copywriting. If your typing speed is good give a try to transcription business and if you are social media savvy start as a social media agency.
Crafts such as selling baked goods, crochet, art or making something unique in general.
Be sure to pick something low risk. Even selling food can be risky. No point in making a few bucks and having someone sue you for everything you are worth and going to be worth.
Good luck!
Starting a small business is an immense undertaking that requires courage, determination, invention, and motivation. Many teenagers have great ideas and are highly motivated, but simply don't know where to begin when it comes to starting their own business. With some time, research and a little help from others, it is possible for any teenager to turn their great ideas, into a successful business.
That's good to know that you like doing things for your own-self and want to realize your own dreams. So I would say that in evolving internet era, the things have changed and setting up your own business now only require a laptop and an active internet connection.
There are platforms like WooCommerce, Shopify and Tibolli.NET that let you develop your online store for free. So I would suggest you to try Tibolli.NET, this is because:-
It is entirely free and will charge you nothing
Secondly, these are offering free mobile application for your online store as well.
Thirdly, this is the world's first free e-commerce platform that is free for the whole life and is not even charging you for the hosting as well.
I appreciate your decision.
To start your business, you need to identify your niche. What business would you like to start?
If you’re good at crafting, you can start selling handmade greeting cards, customized gift decorations, etc. If you enjoy writing, you can freelance and start your blog.
Sharing content on Youtube and social media is also a good way. For the love of cooking, home-bakeries, home-cooked food delivery are cool.
Every business starts small. Think about what you want to do and how.
