D)6y^2 because y^2 is the one thing both terms have in common. I'm guessing the way it looks is. y^2 - (-5y^2) which really is 1- -5 making both - a + so it is 1+5 =6 y^2 is the common thing so6y^2 btw y^2 means the 2 is the exponent of the y
