State govts. should be given more powers to satisfy regional demands?

"Control" in a government means like a strangler: he doesn't want your air, he only wants to control your breathing. The government never lets go without violence. It piles restrictions upon restrictions until the only way an honest man can earn a living is by smuggling. It keeps on keeping on until it is physically impossible to support the regime, and then it collapses. Every dominant culture in history has gone through the same cycle.
