Hi!,
Can anyone tell me if it would be ok to join a 100 watt solar panel to a two battery bank that has a 240v battery charger run from a generator hard wired to them. Or would the battery charger back feed to the solar panel regulator?

Well of course it's going to feed back. You need to talk to someone about a charge controller that is designed to accept different inputs.
