I've got an average sized bedroom. it's about 10 feet wide and 9 feet in depth. I enjoy my queen size bed but it takes up a lot of space. We have a two bed two bath apartment with three people. one sleeps in the living room and wants a mattress. I want extra space and the sofa bed would be perfect. The only con in this situation is having a queen size bed in the living room. when we have guests over we will have two couches instead of three.
I laid down on the sofa bed and it seems comfortable enough but I haven't slept on it. Would you keep the mattress in the bedroom or switch the mattress with the sofa bed? the sofa bed is soft black leather that part doesn't bother me.

Daybeds are often placed and used as benches in large entryways, next to windows, or at the foot of your bed. On the other hand, sofa beds act as a regular sofa and are often placed as such in living rooms and recreational rooms.
Sofa beds are great for people who have guests over less often. Most sofa bed mattresses wear out over time and can flatten with heavy use. Because daybeds are more durable, these are recommended for people who expect to use it on a regular basis. The best part is that both of these types of multipurpose sofas look so different, it is possible to have both. I would, but I cannot afford to buy another mattress at the moment. Plus I've already have the best possible configuration with the stuff that I've got.
I also would like to have a couch in my room so I'm thinking about trying the sofa bed. If it doesn't work out then I could move the mattress back into my room.
