I first noticed it last year when a college professor from somewhere in the Eastern U.S. was being interviewed on NPR. Now it seems to be ubiquitous. Drives me nuts. It sounds as if they're continuing on from something they were saying in the recent past. What's with that?
So . . . where did starting a conversation with "So . . ." come from?
