So last day I send a message to a friend by the Messenger app.Later a little version of his profile?

...  picture appeard right next to my text.So this means that he had seen it.later he sent me another text message.I tapped on the chat and seen it.. Therefore a small version of my profile picture should appear next to his text.Later when i checked the conversation I noticed that next to his text was a little picture of him....What does it mean?

Answer

I'm not sure if he did that or the network did that is it possible that he updated his status and the picture showed up that way I'm thinking he changed his status or the network did something.
