So I love this guy and I don't know what to do?

So this summer I changed schools. I went to this new school and a new school has new boys. Directly the first day I fell for the most popular guy of the whole school. He is also in some of my classes.  The first lesson I got to talk to him and he was instantly really nice to me. since that day we've been talking sometimes and he always stares at me... Now it is the end of the year and I might go to an other school next year, but nothing happend!! But he still looks and tries to get my attention. every. single. day. I really like this guy and I want him soooo bad. 

Please tell me what I have to doo PLEASSEEE!!!

So I know the typical advice is 'tell him how you feel' but a lot of people are too shy to do that, I know I would be. But if u like this guy so much u won't want to lose him and go on thinking 'what if'. So if ur too shy to outrightly tell him how u feel maybe u should get a friend to tell him, just not tell him that u told them to tell him! Make sure it's a trustworthy friend though. Alternatively you could just make an even bigger effort with him, make it ur goal to talk to him and just be really friendly but not overly. Just make sure he doesn't have a girlfriend though!
