into an unexpected issue with my new system build that I have never encountered before. I bought all new parts except for the graphics card, the ram stick, and the hard drive which contains all of my my old computers stuff. I started up the computer, it started to load the windows screen, and then it froze and shut off. After a few tries and more blue screens, I thought I was having difficulties with my hard drive. I then began to do a clean system install. However, every time I boot from the operating system CD, the screen loads up to begin the clean install process but my mouse, keyboard, and all other peripheral devices shut off. The only time all peripheral devices are powered up is right when I power up my system, and when I access the bios. I am suspecting it to be a hardware issue, although I am unaware of what this could be. I thought it could be the new power supply giving too much power to the mobo, but I thought the motherboard automatically adjusts the power flow for you. Please help if anyone

You need somebody to look and see what's wrong. For example I once built a computer and eventually found a wire underneath where a component lead was only half cut off. Another time I didn't plug in a cable because I didn't know what it was. It turned out to be a special power cable to the cpu. You need somebody who knows to look for those things.
Try unplugging the hard drive and booting with the install cd. The old system would have some drivers for specific cpu and other hardware that does not exist in your new system, and that might cause some problems.
