I recently learned that smoking reduces fertility. If I were to quit smoking, would my fertility go back to normal and how long would it take if so?

Hi, stop before you become pregnant. If you are pregnant and smoking research shows that you will probably not harm the baby if you stop by week 10. The day you stop smoking is the day you can get pregnant. No nicotine based supplements during pregnancy.
I do not intend on becoming pregnant for a long while, the idea of not being able in the future is what prompts my question. I guess my real question is can the infertility caused by smoking be permenant?
I know there is no certain answer, but could you estimate how long it would take to return to normal?
