I was thinking about something and this question came to my mind. I don't really now how to explain it. Its basically whether you should be completely honest with someone even though the truth might be unpleasant and in the same time unproductive? My first thoughts was that you should be always honest even if the truth might be unpleasant. But then I thought whats the point? It won't be of any use to the person. The only one who benefits from that is me. My consciousness will be clean for telling the truth. But isn't that a bit hypocritical? Can't I just sugar-coat it so that everyone is happy? I'm not talking about completely lie someone in the face, but more in the situation when you are giving an opinion on something or someone. Generally in the cases when the truth is not constructive. I'd like to hear what you think.
Should you be always painfully honest?
