Yes we should. Our Creator placed upon humans the responsibility to care for the earth. Appreciation for this assignment and humble respect for God and his creative works should motivate us to make thoughtful; conscientious decisions regarding how we treat the earth, and animals. Those on land, in the sea, and the air.
At Genesis 1:28 it says: Further, God blessed them, and God said to them: " Be fruitful and become many, fill the earth and subdue it, and have in subjection the fish of the sea and the flying creatures of the heavens and every living creature that is moving on the earth.
Genesis 2:15 Jehovah God took the man and settle him in the garden of Eden to cultivate it and to take care of it.
Sadly, humans have not done such a great job. But the Bible assures us that every trace of damage caused by man will be undone when as Revelation 21:3-5 says: God ' will make all things new.' That's an unbreakable promise from God with a guarantee. However, we should not conclude that since God will in time restore the earth, that our actions now do not matter, they do. Every day we make choices that affect our environment. We don't have to go to extremes, but it would be wise for us to consider the environmental impact of our choices.
