I want to write a novel. The story has been living in my head for years and I have slowly been mentally working out details. I don't feel as though it would be good enough to show anyone. Should I continue working on it or should I focus on more productive activities?

You write that story! Everyone has a full length novel in their head that deserves to be written down, even if only one person ever gets to read it. Plus, if you write it down and read it about 6 months later, you can get a better view of it as a novel and then make a full decision if you want to try and get it published or not. If not, then you have a book that is completely your own, an accomplishment a lot of passionate writers rarely achieve let alone hold on to.
Thanks so much! That encouragement was just what I needed to continue.
