SHOULD I GO ?

Question

So here's the deal : I have been desperate to take a gap year to Australia for a long while. 
But I must take in consideration the fact that : 1) I have one year of high school next year during which I shall have to get my baccalaureate 
2) I am going to stay in the same school and won't know many people then. 
BUT 

1) I have good grades
2) I have a few friends from the class I'll be in and the kids from the grade under seem nicer than the people from my actual grade. 
3) I have a lot of problems with my family at the moment
SHOULD I GO ?

I feel like a gap year during high school is a huge mistake, but I don't know everything about you. If I were you I wouldn't though and if you do, maybe go to someplace a little closer to home. Talk to your family and trusted adults at school who know what's going on and have them help you make a decision.
