This morning, I dropped my phone. Upon contact with the ground, it did not look damaged whatsoever. It even had an Otterbox case on it. It was only until I tried checking the time that I noticed something was wrong. It wasn't turning on. I tried everything, charging (nothing pops up), replacing battery, but the phone is ultimately unresponsive. I have two options here from the look of it. Option A, get the phone repaired (Samsung Galaxy Note 3), which would cost ~$150, and possibly a month. Or, Option 2, which is to get a new phone entirely. As I am eligible for an upgrade, I could get the Samsung Galaxy S7, paying $28 dollars a month for 24 months (~$672). My father pays for the data plan, so no excess expenses on that.
What do you guys think? Which option should I choose?
Should I get if new phone?

I see one important part in this question and it would come down to that if I was in your situation and that is your father's wealth. While the repair seems quite costly to me and as an adult I would probably buy myself a new phone I would consider it twice if it was someone else buying it for me, especially if that someone is struggling financially even a bit. I wouldn't want me getting a new phone get my father sleepless nights because of money problems. And ofc I suppose it's better for the nature to repair old than to always buy new. I hope I'm not making the decision harder, just trying to give an opinion =)
