A year ago I downloaded tons of steam games to my computer and played a lot. Recently I've been pretty busy and I decided to minimize my gaming by deleting most of them and only leaving a few. I also have a lot of important files which can go up-to 100GB of important files. My question is if I should transfer my important files then format my laptop, or just delete the games one by one. I'm quite a lazy guy so I'm not sure if I sure just format so freely. The total of my games is about 100 of them so uninstalling one by one is a very long task.

It would take probably equally as long for either option. On one side you have to backup everything you DO wish to keep, and the other is going one by one. IMO it really depends on how your computer is running. Sometimes a format is optimal for performance. But it usually rarely goes without problems (might miss important files, etc). I recommend doing it 1 by 1 but like I said its dependant on the state of your computer.
I am agree what Dakota says.you should delete your games one by one if you have so much important files in you laptop because their is a risk if you are going to format your laptop, suppose one important file is left without backing up than it will also delete at the time you format your laptop. You can also visit this forum link for more details:
