Hey guys. I live in LA. I drive 300 -400 miles a week. Nowadays the gas price have been getting higher (3.8 per gallon). I m think about changing my car. I have 2 options. Buy 1 years old Camry because that would around $17000. Or buy Prius? What is better to me? Thank u so much

Gas is not the major part of driving expense. Repair is. The cheapest car is one like the cabs use: drive it until it needs a repair, then sell it and buy one that doesn't need a repair. You will be tempted to just fix this one thing and then it will be ok for a while, but that is a mistake. Sell it and get another. Only gas, oil, and tires; no repairs.
if you are very good at arithmetic, you can compare a hybrid to a normal car. I did that once. It took 350,000 miles to BREAK EVEN, only counting gas mileage and initial cost.
Still think gas is expensive? Back when a buck was silver, a gallon of gas cost 20 to 30 cents. Now silver is $17.50 an ounce. So divide $4.80/17.50 and you are paying 0.274 ounce of silver, exactly what gas cost 60 years ago!
