My parents tell me to do my chores before homework but that doesn't make any sense to me. Shouldn't I get my homework over with first before chores? I oftentimes have to stay up until around eleven, and sometimes later then twelve depending on how much homework I have.

Well depending on your age and this comes from experience. You should know by now what your chores are? Why wait for your parents to remind or ask you? Be proud of your chores and school work. This teaches you responsibility and routine. Make a chore chart for yourself. Sit down with your parents and discuss the priorities. This will help everybody in the house.
I have the same problem. As soon as I get home from a busy school day, filled with homework, my mom will tell me to start doing chores. I have to do loads of laundry and often get told to help with other chores. I too, have to stay up quite late cleaning. It is unhealthy for children to have to stay up and not get enough sleep because of chores. Education over cleaning. That's how I think, but do not have enough courage to talk to my mom about it. I know it sounds ridiculous but I fear her. I fear my mom because of who she married. She married a man who whips her children with a leather belt and screams at us. So if anyone has any suggestions be contact me!
I also start doing my homework and not even five minutes after starting he will come up and tell me to take a break and start chores.
