I'm trying to write a short story. But am having difficulty of what I should write about.

Writing a short story takes some imagination. Do you happen to remember a dream that you can write about? What kind of short stories or books do YOU like to read? You could write a mystery, a fairytale, or just a weird day that you had. Did someone in your family ever surprise you with something big? Like a trip to another state? If you have siblings, you could write about something funny that they did. You could write "One time when I was in a museum, I saw a spy..." That could start you off.
