Im planning to buy bike which have gear pattern 1-N-2-3-4-5. And i never ride a bike before. Im more of a 4 wheeler driver. So my question is while riding how to shift from 1st to 2nd gear. Do i have to pull the gear shifter twice or just a single shift can bring to 2nd while the bike is moving. And another question is while driving in 2nd gear if i pull the shifter hard up, can it go directly to 3rd or 4th or 5th or it first move to next then we have to release first to go to the next gear. Pardon me for my english. I'm bad in english

which kind of bike you are going to buy?
In India there are two types of gear system but its almost same.. only difference is:- in 1st type of bike we have to change gear by foot(gear down) or heel(gear up) pull the clutch & change gear...1st gear is always down (1(down) N (upside from 1) 2(upside from N)...... and so on.
2nd type bike by foot only u can change gear up & down . you have to pull the gear once if your speed is not too slow. otherwise normally you have to pull the gear twice to go 1st gear to 2nd. if you are driving in 2nd gear then you can go to 3rd gear then 4th then 5th.. if you want to go 5th gear from 2nd 3 times u have to push the gear up. no need of pulling the shifter(clutch) harder to change gear. speed matters
