A couple of months ago I ripped a toenail off & with it being summer & constantly wearing sandals, I kept a bandaid around where the toenail should be. I kept one on (changing it daily) every day for a while, making sure it wasn't too tight. A couple of days ago, while I was changing the bandaid, I noticed, where my toe bends hurting (only when bent). I decided it would be best to leave the bandaid off from then on. 2 mornings after, I woke up with severe pain in it & not being able to walk on it at all. It hurts mainly on the outer side of the big toe & is swollen, hot, and painful to move in any direction. It hurts at all times, whether I'm moving or resting, with or without shoes. I am also type 1 diabetic & wasn't sure if it could be nerve damage or just due to keeping a bandaid on for so long. Any answers would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance

i think about now i would go see a doctor cause i think your toe might be infected its really importand to either go to your doctor or to the emergency room specifically it has a bad infection go to the emergency room asap get this undercontrol your being diabetic isn't helping the matter mostly because it takes longer to heal wounds
