Hello. I am really confused about my rights as a caregiver. I have worked as a private caregiver for a little over two years. I get paid through the family of the elderly lady I take care of. My question is should I be getting overtime if I work over 40 hours a week. I have worked mostly 50-60 hours a week and am not a live in caregiver. I work really long shifts (14 hours a day) with no break to go to the store. I have heard both sides that you should get paid overtime and should not. I really appreciate anyone who can clear this up for me. I live in Oklahoma also.
Thank you
