I got my CD in the mail Saturday from amazon which arrived before schedule which is always great. I removed the packaging and everything was fine, disc was pristine and so was casing/booklet as its new. I put disc in the drive of my PC to rip it while I give it a spin. After id listened to the CD for the first time I stopped the CD from playing an removed the disc from the drive to find that there was a number of scratches now on the disc, light scratches around the edges of the disc on two opposite sides in straight lines going across not up or down. I don't get what has happened I received the item Saturday I've played it once through the actual CD source and its scratched which is quite disappointing. Could it be my laptops drive? I handle my discs very carefully and always return to their cases when I'm done with them. I haven't checked whether the marks cause the CD to skip because I'm worried by doing so it may cause more damage. My other discs are fine so I do not understand what has happened I only use the disc to rip to my laptop so I don't have to tamper with the disc every time I want to listen it. Please no download it answers, I know we are in 2017 but I like to own physical copies of my media not just music but games and movies alike. Some answers would be great thank you.
