I was recently suspended for "making a threatening comment."
What really happened, and both the principle and Dean of Students believe me on this, was this: I went into the guidance office and the secretary asked me how I was feeling, my response was one word, "threatened." The secretary however didnt hear me correctly and went and told other members of staff that I said "I feel very threatening today." A vastly different statement. I was then suspended for "making a threatening comment."
can I get legal recompense on these foundations or any other foundation?
1. I could try to get the Dean of Students and principle to testify that I did not make a threatening comment, and therefore was wrongfully punished.
2. I could argue that saying I feel threatening, is not the same as making a threatening comment, and was therefore wrongfully punished.
