Say Im on birth control and have sex but then miss a pill two days after sex, can I get pregnant?

Honestly, there is always a possibility you could get pregnant if you're having sex, even if you take the pill perfectly on time everyday. I have heard a few different things regarding this question. Some doctors say that if you miss your pill but take it as soon as you can remember you should be fine. Also some doctors say that if you have been on birth control for quite some time it takes a while to get out of your system even if you stop taking it completely. The advice I have for you is if you missed your pill, took it as soon as you remembered and got back on track you should be just fine. For me, if I forget to take it and then take it as soon as I can I have to put some time in between that pill and the next pill or I get very nauseous. Not everyone is the same but I have done what you have many times over the past 7 years that I have been on the pill and I have been just fine.
