I want to find a licensed roofing contractor to work for in Florida. I would be responsible for getting all of my own jobs and paying for all expenses myself. Also, I would be paid no salary or hourly wage. I would be paid by commission for each job. All checks would be made out to the roofing contractors business and deposited into his business account. Is this okay? Due to the cost and other restrictions, I am unable to get a roofing license myself. Hopefully someone can help me. Thanks

It's important to clarify that the arrangement you described may not comply with licensing and labor laws in Florida. In Florida, roofing contractors are required to hold a valid contractor's license to legally perform roofing work. Additionally, labor laws typically require that workers be compensated with a salary or hourly wage, and not solely through commission-based arrangements.
If you are unable to obtain a roofing license yourself, you may want to consider other options such as working as a subcontractor under a licensed roofing contractor or exploring alternative career paths within the construction industry that do not require a license. It's advisable to consult with a legal professional or the Florida Department of Business and Professional Regulation for guidance on how to proceed within the bounds of the law.
