I've vista in my laptop which doesn't support some software! While re installing XP from boot it says no hard disk found! how to solve it?

start-->insert boot CD in cd drive then re-start the system..now press F12 key in your laptop then it ask for boot from cd/dvd,hard drive or usb...select boot from CD/DVD and enter....install now....or press f2 change the bios setup select boot device...cd/dvd...esc it ask save changes give yes...then do the above step....
