So, I have 3 cats. Two of them are kittens that are about one year old, and one is an older 16 year old cat. The older cat is acting badly (peeing on the bed) so my family puts her down in the basement at night. While getting the cat out of the basement this morning, my mother was attacked by one of our other cats. The cat, pepper, who attacked is acting strangely (arching back at other cat, staring directly into people eyes and the other cats eyes, going after the other cat, being aggressive.) Could these be signs of rabies? Pepper does not seem disoriented though. The cat never sees the older cat almost. (might be good to mention that my mother was holding the older cat) Is this territorial? Pepper used to be completely fine around people and the younger cat, but always attacked the older cat. Please, I need answers, to figure out what to do.

well your cat is not rabid but males will be very agresive to protect its teritory from new comers and he atacked your mom probebly just mad at her because she alowed these new non recognized cats to live where he calls his home and i hope this helped by the way im kt :) just try to keep the new cats distant.
