... errors.
At my job I work with one particular individual that butts in my one on one conversation and makes it their own. It almost seems deliberate since I do dont say very much anyways. The way I see it, they are rude and disrespectful. I usually walk away because its no longer my conversation. Can someone help me out?
Question - I'm generally a quiet person at work minding my own business so I can focus and minimize?

There are a number of reasons why this
person is doing this.
Socially -this person has no idea !!
Of course, they seem very rude , disrespectful
overbearing........
This person may simply want to join the conversation
or to be included but not know how .
This person may have ADD or ADHD ( well known
for this)
This person could have some other Intellectual
/Developtmental Disorder.
This p. could be extremely lonely or a 'show off(
OR .......
This person could be hateful towards you ?
This person could be plain RUDE !!!!
From everything which was listed, I am not sure which one it is.
At the same time, I do not like to tell people what to do. unless they
were working for me.
Despite the reason -there are 2 basic choices
you can make.
1. You can ignore them
2. You can incorporate them into the conversation.
How about going for a coffee / chat with them.
Tell them something like........You have a friendly
smile - it changes the way people feel.
The way you interupt + 'talk over ' (dominate)
me when I 'm talking upsets me.Why do you
constantly do this?
You may become friends/or maybe not.
You will definitely get n answer.
She is not someone I would like to be friends with, for the simple reason. She shares
too much personal info on certain co-workers. I feel more comfortable just keeping things under job basis.
I have tried giving her tips on how to get over her lost husband of which passed away 8 years ago and how to move on.
On other occasions she has lashed out on me, so I ask, Are You Angry!!! She says yes.
and tells me why. So she does have issues and I am tired of saking what is wrong.I feel she needs to start helping herself. Maybe she just wants my attention.
Agree! Her issues are THE issue here!
Contact yr wk friends when she's not
around + make an arrangement 2meet/chat.
At wk, u need 2 ignore her behaviour.
Someone else I'm sure will tell her 2get help.
U aren't the only one.
People with ADD /ADHD -do not know they
are doing this and can't do anything about
the way they behave. They also can't read social
hints /signals..even tell that they are talking too much.
Also they can get excited (talk louder / angry )
as time goes on.. They can repeat themselves
