Hey everyone I'm a 15 year old girl and have been dealing with a long term illness that seems to have started with a kidney infection. With a increasingly high fever for 3 months ,After being referred to hospital with protein and blood in my urine further tests were needed. We figured out early on that the blood seemed to subside after a while but as for the protein it wasn't appearing with my early morning sample but it seems to develop throughout the day after drinking water. He seemed happy that this was no cause for concern but we will monitor it. So 3 weeks ago he sent off another early morning sample which did indeed show with protein in it. We closely monitor and the protein seem To be getting larger in my urine. But on Monday things took a turn for the worst. I woke up feeling HORRIFIC and honestly had the most Awful swelling and pain throughout my body. So we did another urine test. But before this I noticed blood dripping from the toilet paper, can I just add not my period as I'm on the pill. So we tested my urine and there was +++ amount of blood which read At the highest level and protein was 'large. luckily we had another appointment the next day and in the waiting room something very scary happened. My heart started pounding in my ears, feeling very faint and shaking and my mum quickly got me a hospital bed and indeed my blood pressure was 163/94 bearing in mind I'm 15 so seen in a pediatric hospital ward. So the nurses instantly checked my urine and yes! Completely filled with blood and protein and my AKI blood test from 3 months ago we found out was abnormal. I had urgent ultrasound scans and we are awaiting results.I've done another few urine samples which have been sent off to the lab testing for creatine. My consultant is being very helpful but is unsure why my protein develops a lot more rapidly throughout the day after drinking or not. But the blood is now continuously in my urine too in very large amounts. And my protein is also showing up in my urine first pee of the day. I'll also add I have traces of bilirubin in my urine, high specific gravity and a moderate amount of leukocytes. I can completely say I have no UTI infection as this was already 'treated' for with antibiotics last year. My consultant thinks I should be referred to a specialist and have a biopsy. Any ideas from anyone? Thanks x
Just to add I am currently having tests for diabetes with blood sugar reading of 10.7mmol and showing symptoms x
