I am writing a novel and within it I have a character reading aloud from a book. Where the quote from the book begins, however, there is dialogue taking place. Can someone please tell me how to manage the quotations in this mess?
For example:
Mrs. Crabapple read, "'*If you run after me,* said the little bunny,
*I will become a fish in a trout stream and I will swim away from you.*
I know in normal cases it would simply be something like: Mrs. Crabapple read, "'One fish, two fish, read fish, blue fish.'"
