On every PS2 controller there is an "analog" button. I've read that it disables the analog sticks for PS1 backwards compatibility. But in my Gran Turismo 3 A Spec manual it says, I quote "The Analog Controller (DUALSHOCK®2) will default to ANALOG mode (Mode indicator: Red) on boot-up. The vibration [...]. Whes using the (circle), (cross), (triangle), (square), (L1), (L2), (R1) and (R2) buttons to operate the accelerator and the brakes during during a race, the Controller is used in analog fashion, and the degree of pressure on the pedals corresponds to how hard the buttons are pressed. Press (up), (down), (left) or (right) to controll the steering-wheel also in analog fashion. The steering-wheel turning-angle corresponds to how hard (up), (down), (left) or (right) are pressed."
So what I really understand is that the console knows when I press a button harder??
(I have opened up a PS2 controller before and there were only normal buttons under the plastic covers, no axis)
So can you, please which one of the answers is right? ☺
