I have been prescribed 40mg propranolol to take once a day which I've been taking daily the last couple of weeks. I do a lot of research on medications so I know a lot about it. I was prescribed it for what I called "inner tension" and stress. Today I went back to the doctor to try Sertraline (I tried citalopram and fluoxetine a few years ago but I couldnu handle the side effects) I'm hoping to get through it this time as I believe I should of started SSRI meds a long time ago (I'm 29 now) I suffer mainly from worry and anxiety which is why I want to try Sertraline. Will the propranolol work to relieve the side effect symptoms of the sertraline? Or would you suggest asking my gp for a benzo to get me through the first few weeks? Thanks in advance guys cheers.

do you have hypertension for some idea i thought anything wrong with your blood preasure if you research your meds you will have more of a idea why a doctor would prescibe it and what they are suppose to treat and the other things they are being used for just as well i think the propranolol would help with the over indulges of the sertraline but to watch for any side effects that one has from different meds but can be dealt with they say if a new med is presribed it takes a couple weeks to start working
