Alright, so the DMV webpage was totally unhelpful. Basically, I'm living in South Carolina with my dad. I am 18 and have never had a DL (license) in any state. Like, never been issued a license in my entire life. The DMV did not really give useful information for how to go about getting one. I can prove myself as a SC resident, but i need to know if there are other requirements. I know there is a written test, a road test, and a vision exam, but I need to know what the process is. It says on the website for the DMV that you have to take a driver's ed course (ugh), so I need to know if that's legit, too. I also don't know if I have to get a learner's permit first. I just don't want to have to be chauffeured everywhere by my dad or my grandmother, since I'm 18 and know how to drive. I've just never had a license or a permit before. The rules in MS were straightforward and simple so I'm pretty confused by this whole process. I have a couple more months here, then I'm doing my first year of college in Indiana, so getting this figured out sooner rather than later would be ideal. Help?
