I want to be reassured that my pregnancy is accurate. Pregnancy test was positive on Dec 27th. First ultrasound on Jan 23rd put me at 9 weeks. Last period was around Nov 20th. About when did I conceive & is it possible I didn't get pregnant until the end of December?
Pregnancy test didn't show + until end of Dec but was told on Jan 23 I was 9 weeks?

Pregnancy weeks are counted from the first day of last menstrual period even though conception has obviously not occurred yet. Counting backwards 9 weeks from January 23 to November 9 verifies this approximately. Conception happens at the time of ovulation which is estimated around day 14 of a typical 28 day cycle (so around December 4th for you) however not all women have a regular cycle or it may be regularly longer or shorter somewhere between 21-35 days and ovulation may not happen on the very middle day that is just a guideline. A home pregnancy test usually isn't taken until after the period is missed and relies on presence of human growth hormone which will become more apparent the longer you wait to test. That said ultrasounds are very accurate at dating especially when the baby is between 8-11 weeks the measurements and features are easily distinguished. Hopefully this helps you feel more confident about your due date and congratulations!
