Hi,

My recent model smartphone needed repairs so I took it back to the retailer. They said they would send it away for repairs and it would typically takes two weeks.

It has now been three weeks so I phoned the phone repair agent directly to find out what's happening. They said the store waited two weeks before posting the phone for repairs. I believe this is true based on the automated "confirmation of arrival" message sent to my email account.

I will be making a formal complaint, but an apology won't mean much. Not having a phone is an inconvenience and the store should have sent it away asap.

Is it too much to ask for the store for compensation? Say, ask for a gift voucher since they have made me wait an extra two weeks.

What would you do?
What do you think is reasonable?
