Usually, elephants wouldn't be able to survive without the dull tusk because they need to be able to defend themselves. Tusks are like a longe range weapon for them. Otherwise, they have nothing.
Its againt the law.
Rangers with guns will kill poachers, as they should.
The elephant is not going to stand still and allow it and you can traumatize an elephant for life.
