Hello,
So I gave my rabbit a bath today (my vet said it is safe) and while doing so, i think both my bunnies got soap in their eyes.
The doe doesn't open its eyes now unless it is walking or running and when I look at her eyes, its full of mucus and completely red.
The Buck is in similar condition but is blind in one eye (Albino rabbit) and that eye' cornea now looks even whiter than before. Same condition as the doe on the other eye.
I am going to take my buck to the vet first thing in the morning but I am scared that they might still have soap in their eyes and they will go blind if it stays overnight!
I do not usually wash its head but when they got soap in their eye, I poured water and cleaned it but now I am scared that I wasn't through.
BTW I used a shampoo that is used on humans. The one that I use. Its head and shoulders. Any advice would be appreciated for the night.
They are eating fine and have no overgrown teeth as they get a lot of fresh grass everyday (no hay available in india for pets).
Their teeth are healthy and uniform and their droppings are as usual. They just have this eye problem after the bath.
They are eating fine and running around but not really as playful as they should be and they are eating with their eyes closed. Even when walking, they only open their eyes partially.
Please help me and I promise I will never give my rabbits a bath ever again, seeing how this one went.
