Do you like or dislike having these things? I'm trying to do research on it, but I can't find anything I'm sure is trustworthy. I'm from the USA, just trying to understand what would really happen if we made these things "free".

Hello! I live in Canada and quite honestly I really enjoy our free healthcare. It's always there for you and it's just a really nice stability and insurance for if anything ever happens. My dad fell off a ladder a few years ago, for example, and we were covered for it. I find it very helpful.
You can't get trustworthy research because people won't record anything that contradicts the official line. For instance people like to say "My case was covered," but nobody mentions all the people who crossed the border and paid cash to get the service they needed when they needed it. That is called "voting with their feet" and it is rather difficult to find any documentation.
We have the same thing here. Los Algodones, Mexico is less than seven miles from Yuma, AZ and has more dentists per acre than any place in the world. People pay air fare, motel, taxi, passport, and still get their dental work cheaper than in the USA. You never heard of it, did you? losalgodones.com/
