My boyfriends ex girlfriend took off and moved out of state before their son was born. For the first year he was flying out to that state or flying them back here to see his son and then she flat out left him and shut him out. He hasn't seen his son in almost 2 years and she hasn't spoken to him either. He is wanting to take this to court but doesn't know where to file. Can he do it in the state he lives in or does it have to be the state the child was born in? We've heard both. Help!

i know each state has their own rules if he does it where he is living you would have to have her served meaning you would have to find out where she is at i think he could do it in the state hes in then if you did it where she is at he would have to travel back and fourth then she would have to travel if he did it in his state
