So my mom and dad said that I could get a flat screen t.v. in my room, but I would like to get a sewing machine instead. My dad said that he would have to think about it and that I have too many hobbies as it is (knitting, crocheting, ukulele, violin, school, and daily horseback riding) (Yes I'm spoiled) Is he implying that he would rather me have a television over a sewing machine? and that I shouldn't pick up another hobby? This is very confusing for me as he is constantly saying how I spend too much time with electronics. Is this a trick question? How should I reply?

I think you should tell him how blessed he is to have a son/daughter like you. Most teenagers today only sit watching TV and do absolutely nothing all day. I think that doing hobbies is a very great thing because you get to have many skills. Watching TV is not gonna benefit you in anything, trust me.
