Parakeet bathing. Can someone tell me what I did wrong? My sweet parakeet went into shock after bathing and almost died. Came back 100% many hours later. It could not even stand up, now back to normal. I am afraid of bathing it now. Here is the details. What happened?
I followed advice online and used room temperature water, 75 degrees. Is this why? Too cold?
I bathed it outdoors in 95 degree weather.
We had McDonald's earlier and our hands may have had salt on them from fries. Did the salt do it?
The parakeet stayed in water for about a minute flapping wings and getting wet.
