4 months ago I was snowboarding at a high speed when my board hit a submerged fallen tree. All my weight and speed was put on my right knee when my kneecap landed on the tree. It was very painful and I couldn't walk properly for a week. On the inside of my knee and knee cap had and still has this weird numb feeling and if something touches my knee cap it is still extremely painful, even if it's a light tap. I can walk fine and bend my knee fine, but cannot kneel on it. I sometimes get muscle pains around the knee and at times the skin can be very sensitive.
I know I should get it checked and I will however I am on a year long trip and I am never in the one place for very long so waiting for test results isn't really an option. Is there anyone that can tell me what could be wrong with me?

4 months have been long enough for you to experience that discomfort and pain in your knee. Although we could not turn back the time, let's just face the present. There are times when self medication wouldn't work. Sure, there are a lot of pain medications, but it would only get rid of the symptoms and not the root cause of it. I have learned this from my chiropractor at drfryer.ca. So, in your case, you need to have it checked. Don't let the long trip that you will have, hinder you to get better. You wouldn't be able to enjoy wherever you would go anyway if you continue to feel that discomfort and pain.
