I have a dull achy pain under my right rib cage, presumably where the liver is. It hurts most when I cough, sneeze, or laugh. I have been somewhat a heavy drinker for 6 years, on and off, and have been drinking more heavily this past month. Could the pain be related to this? I am a 30 year old female, and have been known to be a hypochondriac, so wonder if it could just be in my head

It could be pain from the liver. It also could be pain from something else. It is hard to tell. Of course right away you think the liver because of the heavy drinking, it is understandable. I would definitely explain what is going on to your doctor and go get it checked.
if your experiencing abdominal pain when you sneeze or laugh then it's not just in your head. that's not something you should ignore. i'd say to cut down on the drinking until you get checked out by a doctor. it could be a number of things. we aren't always good at knowing what's causing the pain. that's what doctors are there for.
yes the bills are expensive but knowing is better than not knowing.
