Hello I had my appendix removed last week and my woundnin my stomach became infected. The surgeons got the infection out and left the wound open. The wound is about an inch long and 2cm wide. I am wondering how long it will take to heal and close? As I am changing the dressing everyday.

did they pack it with gause related filling with strips that are soaked with antibiotics the reason it is left open is so it can drain and heal they can get infection really bad and easy you should start healing foe the next 3 weeks by then you should notice a diffrence it the healing progress
