The tip of my synthetic oil painting brush has spilted outwards and soak it with hot water did not help. However my natural hair brush hasn't spilt.
Not sure if natural hair brush is more durable than synthetic brush, or it was the way I wash my synthetic brush is wrong.
(Oil painting brush)Is natural hair brush more durable than synthetic brush?

I'm sure one might be better than the other, but in my experience it doesn't matter. Each brush does something different. When one of my brushes get destroyed I get a new one and move the old one to do a new job. Sometimes ruining a brush can actually be the best thing. You can also use scissors to adjust it to do what you want. The hard part is experimenting and not hyperventilating when you see the price of brushes.
