My son, 19, was diagnosed with NF1 when he was in infant. Even though he has never suffered any more than the cafe au lait spots, some freckling, a slight curvature of the spine, and a slight learning disability, after he graduates from high school next week, he is scheduled to join the Air Force. He told his recruiter about his NF and was told not to say anything to the doctors giving the exam. His mother said the same thing; don't mention it...
What are the dangers of him going through basic training with NF rearing up and causing him some real problems.
