I just got a male syrian hamster and I brought him home and put him in his new home. He is now in?the corner frozen and is not doing much. I know he is supposed to be scared of his new surroundings but is being frozen normal. I am very worried. This is my first hamster I have owned so i am looking for anything to ease my mind. Thanks!

well it might take him a few days to get use to his surroundings but it should straighten out if he isn't to scared give him some time doesn't come out i would call the place where you got him at and talk to them is he eating over food and water vegetables things he likes to eat
Yeah, a little alone time will help him feel safe. Does he have a really good hiding place and is he plenty warm? Rodents need place to bury to feel safe and they don't need super hot places but if the pet store is much colder or warmer than your room then he might be adjusting his temp. Like softbabe said if he has time he will probably recover soon. The thing I would watch is his food bowl. Give him a sweet treat (something like a yogurt drop or a raisin will do). If he doesn't eat for a 24 hour period then he is having tummy problems. I'd call the shop then.
Also give him a solid 2 hours alone.
He has a little home that covers him but he is choosing to sleep and stay in another corner not covered by anything behind his wheel. He just went to go eat some food and brought it back to the corner he's been sitting in and he's eating his food. It is around 72 degrees in my house so I am assuming that is warm enough and he's in a glass tank aquarium with a wire mesh top so it's probably a little warmer in there. I have a towel half covering his cage so it allows for more privacy and less distractions.
He smelled his food but did not want to eat it.
