If possible you should ask a trusted friend or family member to babysit and offer to pay them. It's always better leaving your child with someone you know and trust. Even if the day care center is reputable.
Having you're child at home is best, the more time he/she spends away from family the less likely it is for him/her to be influenced by you and your family and, kids often spend more time then they need to away from family. Having a close friend or family member watch your child for you can also be cheaper and simpler.
It's also better to keep your child at home because you know that no one will be teaching your child things you don't want them to, weather it's a world view you're against or political etc. being home with family is always better.
I'm not against day care centers, but it's always good to be cautious, and pay attention to what you're child is being exposed to on a daily basis, in short "better safe than sorry".
If you have a trusted cousin or sister or even one of your parents who has enough free time, tell them you're willing to negotiate their hourly wage while you're going to school.
thats what i say, im starting school the day care is free but i dont know anyone that works there and sorry but i wont trust any one with my kid but family
