When i was a child i watched a cartoon on beta max video 1986-1990ish, it was a boy who controled a giant robot from a cockpit in the robots head. He would fly about and fight other robots. The robot was hidden under a tennis court which would open and he would fly out. Does this sound familar to anyone? I cant remember the name of the cartoon ?

the robot is called Gigantor - but to be more specific you watched the tv series The New Adventures of Gigantor ( A sequel series), which had the boy with an arm control and he flew up from under a tennis court. find the intro https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=usq31bJio5k might look famillliar
